Delayed til 2018.
Nintendo Switch’s paid online service has been delayed til 2018, and the company has released details for the new service.
The service will cost $3.99 for a one-month membership, $7.99 for 3-month membership, and $19.99 for 12-month. The service will include access for a compilation of Classic Game Selections with added online play such as Super Mario Bros. 3, Balloon Fight and Dr. Mario.
The service will still use smartphone chat app for voice communications. The free version of the app is set to release summer 2017, and Nintendo said subscribers would have access to special eShop deals including discounts on select digital games and content.
The current online service is still free until 2018. After the free-period, most games will require the paid online service to play online.
