Things Worth Noticing in the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Super Bowl Trailer

All the secrets.

We talked about the Stranger Things season 2 Super Bowl teaser trailer yesterday, and now it’s time to talk about everything worth noticing in the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Super Bowl trailer!  It’s only the second most talked trailer during Super Bowl!

You can check out the trailer above.

From what we’ve seen in the trailer, plus many reports from various sources, the film will open up with the Sovereign.  A race of alien that’s made out of gold and is really full of themselves.  The lead, Ayesha is seen in the trailers, and she has captured Nebula and is willing to give her to the Guardians in exchange for them to destroy Ablilisk, the tentacle monster we’ve seen in the trailer.  The Guardians obviously killed it, but Rocket, with his sticky fingers, stole something from Sovereign and causes an outrage from the Sovereign.  You can never trust a raccoon.

The movie will also focus on the relationship between Gamora and Nebula.  The two of them will finally come to terms, and Nebula will join the Guardians.

Meanwhile, Yondu will join the team too.  He even receives an official welcome from Baby Groot in the trailer above.  Yondu’s departure from Ravagers is due to his effection for Peter, and a mutiny from someone named Taserface.  I wonder how he got that name?  Anyway, it appears that the Guardians will be captured by the Ravagers, and Yondu is going to help them escape.

By the way, Baby Groot’s jacket is not a style from Peter, but it’s a joke from the Ravagers instead.  I mean, who can blame them?  The little tree monster looks adorable in it.

The trailer shows one more addition to the Guardians roster- Mantis.  She’s Ego the Planet’s servant, but the lack of human interactions leaves her to be quite awkward.  It’s reported that she will share a connection to Drax, the other socially awkward character in the team.  I mean you saw the trailer above already right?  Only a best friend will yell “Look out!” after someone is already hit by space debris.  Also, I hope she’s okay.

So what do you think of the new Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Super Bowl trailer?  Do you want to see Baby Groot in different outfits?  Are Drax and Mantis going to hook up?  And what other classic rock do you want to hear from the film?  I’m a HUGE Fleetwood Mac fan, so I’m already happy.  Let us know in the comments below.
