Let’s Talk About That Twist in M. Night Shyamalan’s Split

Oh my god have you seen director M. Night Shyamalan’s new film Split yet?  Unlike the director’s horrible track record for the past few years, the film is like OG Shyamalan standard and that twist is oh so good!  The “Twist Master” is definitely back!  Make sure you know I’m the first person to call him Twist Master.

Anyway, let’s talk about that ending with a possible sequel we’ve been waiting for.  Be sure not to read on though if you haven’t seen the film yet.  You don’t want to be spoiled at all the film is really good!

Okay, here goes: The film is secretly a sequel to Shyamalan’s 2000 film Unbreakable!  The film ends with the surprise reappearance of Bruce Willis’ character David Dunn, and the world rejoice!  We’ve been waiting for a Unbreakable sequel for over 16 years!

Shyamalan has also stated his original plan is to have Kevin Wendell Crumb/Horde to be the first villain David Dunn confronted in Unbreakable.  That didn’t happen before, but it’s possible to finally have that confrontation between David and Kevin in a proper Unbreakable sequel!  Especially since Split’s reception has been wonderful!  The sequel can have plenty of directions too, including what David has been up to for the past 16 years, Is Mr. Glass still lock up in the insane asylum, or are there other people with powers in the world.

And seriously go watch Split already!  My review will be up on Friday.
