20th Century Fox Wants a Live-Action X-Men TV Series

If Marvel would allow it…

X-Men TVTVInsider has reported that 20th Century Fox is in talks with Marvel for a live-action X-Men TV series.

It’s in negotiations,” Fox Entertainment Chairman Gary Newman told TVInsider. “We’re cautiously optimistic, we had a good meeting with [Marvel]. That will not be on a fast track creatively. This is just the deal, now we have to find the creative.

If the negotiations are successful, a TV series would be scheduled at 2016 for Fox.  Another news source also stated a core group of producers at Fox are working on the series.  Evan Katz and Manny Coto from 24 will be producers/showrunners, and Patrick McKay and JD Payne are involved as writers too.

Although 20th Century Fox owns the film rights of X-Men, it’s unknown who actually owns the TV rights of the franchise.  The two parties are on bad terms due to X-Men’s rights, so the chance of Marvel agreeing to a X-Men TV series is kind of impossible.  But hey, I’m interested, so let’s see what kind of show Fox will bring us.
