CW’s The Flash Gets Its Own Pilot

The treatment Flash deserves.

Deadline reports that while Barry Allen is still appearing in Arrow’s December 4th and 11th episodes, actor Grant Gustin’s Flash will no longer have a backdoor pilot later in the season.  Instead, he will have a proper pilot of his own now.

The standalone pilot is due to the positive reception from the studios when they test for the Arrow two-parter introducing Gustin as  Barry Allen.  A back-door pilot would still be to serve the characters and ongoing story of Arrow, a standalone pilot will give Barry Allen and his supporting characters a proper chance to shine.

The only down-side is that Flash TV series is no longer going to be a spring debut, but a full-fall debut instead.
