Why don’t they just make the phone like this in the first place?
Samsung announced the Galaxy S4 Active, the waterproof and dustproof version of the Galaxy S4.
For the outdoorsy type, the phone can fend off water for 30 minutes, and at a depth of one meter. The phone has a water resistant headphone jack as well.
The phone weights 151g, and 9.1mm thick, so it’s not that much bigger than the original phone. The new phone will come with physical buttons instead of capacitive ones. The phone is equipped with a 1.9GHz quad-core processor and a 5-inch full HD display. There will also be “Glove Touch” where you can operate your phone with gloves on.
The Galaxy S4 Active uses an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, which is actually weaker than the 13-megapixel found on the standard phone. However, the phone comes with “Aqua Mode” for you to take photos and videos underwater with increased clarity. It really is a perfect phone for those who’re on adventures.
The phone will be available later this summer in US and Europe with Urban Grey, Dive Blue and Orange Flare. The price is unknown yet .
