Did this cartoon series ever make its way to America?
This is perhaps on of my favorite cartoon series as a kid. Zettai Muteki Raijin-Oh (Absolutely Invincible Raijin-Oh) is about an elementary school classroom transforming into a command center for giant robots to fight alien invaders. The idea is unique, and the story is action packed. There are three robots (Ken-Oh, Hou-Oh, and Juu-Oj) and they can combine into Raijin-Oh. Later, the series will add a forth robot (Bakuryu-Oh) to combine all the robots into a greater God Raijin-Oh.
Now, Kotobukiya’s D-Style line toys is releasing a new Raijin-Oh toy in a cute, chibi appearance. There will come with Ken-Oh, Hou-Oh and Juu-Oh separately, and they can be combined into Raijin-Oh. The figure is capable of different poses, and comes with all the weapons and armory from the cartoon series. Also, the figure will come with a Evil Ball. In the cartoon, the Evil Ball wonders around the street, and if it overhears someone saying they hate/dislike something, it will create a robot based on that thing. For example, if a kid says he hates carrots, then the Evil Ball will create a Carrot Robot to disrupt the peace.
The figure will be released in September, and it will be about 3,360 yen (about 40 bucks).
