Tomorrow is May the 4th, Star Wars Day. Most importantly, tomorrow is also the first Saturday of May. That’s right- Free Comic Book Day! Here’s a guide of what I think matters in the Free Comic Book Day:
DC is celebrating the 75th anniversary of Superman, and they’re going give us a sneak peak of the upcoming Superman Unchained!
Also, this issue will reprint the first chapter of Superman: Last Son. Apparently a story that’s still intact in the world of New 52.
Marvel is teasing it’s upcoming event- Infinity. The issue will be a teaser and lays the groundwork of Thanos’ coming.
We all know that Thanos will be the main villain in next Avengers 2 movie, so there’s no surprise Marvel is plotting to make him the big bad guy in the Marvel universe.
Dark Horse is packing three different into their free issue: Mass Effect, R.I.P.D. and a the sneak peak of the upcoming The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys.
Fabulous Killjoy is said to be highly anticipated. Hopefully the preview won’t be a let down.
While IDW’s own TMNT comic series is a great hit, there’s no deny that the new Nick cartoon series is great as well. IDW is planning on releasing comic series based on the new cartoon universe, and they’re testing it out in their free comic book issue. Hopefully it great, because I can’t wait to read this series.
There’s no surprise that Image decides to release something The Walking Dead related for their Free Comic Book Day. There will be reprints of stories featuring The Governor, Michonne and Morgan. Most importantly, there will be a brand new story featuring Tyreese, one of my favorite characters. Can’t wait to see what this is about.
Viz will be releasing free comic issue this year as well. The Dragon ball free issue is simply the first chapter of the original manga. However, the cover is a special redesigned one made for the special edition in Japan. I think it will be worth getting it just for the cover itself.
Those are the free comic book issues that I think matters for the Free Comic Book Day. Be sure to grab the copies early in the morning before they ran out. Also, if you’re too lazy to make a trip to your local comic book store, just go ahead and checks out Comixology, as they will have the free issues available as well.
